We at Kovach Eye Institute believe that everybody should be able to achieve Peak Performance Vision without financial hardship. To help our patients in the Chicago and the Chicagoland areas, we offer financing options for SMILE, LASIK, and other out-of-pocket vision correction procedures.

Is my Treatment Covered by Insurance?

Your vision insurance or medical insurance plan provides coverage for medically necessary treatments, but rarely for elective procedures such as SMILE, LASIK, advanced technology, and other vision correction surgery. Our patients find that financing out-of-pocket costs is convenient and affordable.

What Treatments Can be Financed?

Financing can be leveraged for all types of vision services and surgeries that aren’t covered by insurance, such as:

Flexible Financing with Wells Fargo

The Wells Fargo Health Advantage® credit card is issued by Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. with approved credit and can be used to space any of our patients’ out-of-pocket costs into a series of convenient monthly payments. This is a revolving line of credit that can be used whenever necessary, and Wells Fargo offers a number of bill payment options as well as an easy-to-use online account management system.

Using HSA/FSA Funds

In addition to financing their vision correction surgery, our patients can also pay for elective treatments using a medical savings plan such as a Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Many people do not realize that they can use their HSA or FSA for LASIK and other elective vision procedures, as well as many out-of-pocket vision care expenses. These funds are specifically designated for healthcare expenses and are employee-sponsored and tax-deferred. To learn more, contact your plan’s administrator.
